Exploring Ruins in Cambodia

The last portion of our trip was in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Similar to traveling to Koh Mak, the trek to Siem Reap was long and involved numerous types of transportation. We left Koh Mak by ferry, caught a van to the Thai border town of Aranyaprathet, walked through the border crossing to Poipet, Cambodia, took a bus to the Poipet bus station, and caught a taxi to Siem Reap.

We stayed in a cute little guesthouse near the Old Market in Siem Reap, a neat part of the downtown with a number of cool markets and restaurants. While in Siem Reap, we spent most of our time exploring Angkor Wat, a temple complex built in the 12th century. The ruins are absolutely incredible and definitely worth visiting if you have the chance.
