Relaxing On Koh Mak

After an amazing time in Chiang Mai, my sister and I headed to Koh Mak, a small island in the Gulf of Thailand. It wasn’t simple to get there – we started with a night bus to Bangkok, followed by a bus to Trat, a wild Songtau ride to the pier in Trat, and finally, a windy hour-long speedboat ride to Koh Mak.

The crazy travel was worth it. The island was beautiful and the locals we met on it were wonderful. Despite a lot of rain, we had a fabulous four nights, enjoying a gorgeous beach, some of the best food of the trip, an elephant trek and a Thai cooking class.
