A Must Watch: Food, Inc.

I’ll get off of my soapbox soon, but not just yet. For those of you who haven’t seen the documentary Food, Inc., please do. It aired last night on PBS and will continue to air in the next few weeks. Check your local listings.

The film takes a close look at our country’s food industry and asks us to think about the food we eat and the way it is produced. It discusses the health problems we face as a result of our food system, including the shocking prevalency of type 2 diabetes in children. Both Eric Schlosser and Michael Pollan, two of my favorite writers on this issue, are featured.

Ok, that’s enough from me. Check it out.

  1. I recently watched this too, and it is pretty scary isn’t it? I mean, the stuff that goes on behind the scenes is just … crazy!
