Meet Joe

I came across the Joe Toucan Diabetes Project today on Twitter. According to their website, the initiative was created to research, design and develop supplies and accessories to benefit children and young adults with diabetes.

The key product is the Joe Toucan doll which was designed to help children with diabetes learn about the disease and become the care-takers of their dolls. Joe will come with an assortment of miniature diabetic tools, including a glucose meter, lancet, test trip and insulin syringe. I love this idea. Being diagnosed with diabetes is scary and anything designed to help children with the adjustment is a positive step.

Am I too old for Joe?

Nope! You are not to old!

  2. I saw that too! I thought it was really awesome, mostly because Joe looks like a guy that people would so easily identify with!
