I’m Katie, a 20-something diagnosed with diabetes in January 2010. While my case is still a mystery, my endocrinologist suspects it may be latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA), a slow onset of type 1.

I moved from Los Angeles to Boston in September 2011 to begin a graduate program in food studies. When I’m not studying, writing, or cooking, I love to travel and spend time outdoors.
